Death shall not be able to brag about its power over the poet’s friend as it does over every other mortal being. Despite being a mortal, the young man will achieve immortality through the poet’s verse. Death will never be able to make the poet’s friend surrender to it. Although death is an inevitable part of life, it will fail to conquer the fair youth because of the special ability of poetry to place someone beyond the worldly matters.
