“Few girls can resist flattery.” – Who said the line?  why did the speaker say so? what reaction did he get from the listener?

The blind narrator of Ruskin Bond’s story ‘The Eyes Have It’ said the above line. It was a soliloquy.

He initially thought that his comment  “you have an interesting face” To his Girl co pessenger was Evidence of his growing courage. But soon  he realise that it was a safe remark because he was certain that even false praise  impress most of the girls.

The narrators company on Rohana To  Saharanpur Accepted the complement quit well with a clear  ringing laugh and said That it was a nice one  there after she told the narrator that she was tired of receiving the same complement again And again that she had a pretty face. the listener also Complemented the narrator saying that  he was a very talent young man. the girl also asked the narrator,  who said not only her face was an interesting one but also pretty, the reason of his being so serious.
