Comment on the ending of the story ‘The Eyes Have It’.

Ruskin Bond’s short story ‘The Eyes Have It’ portrays and outstanding example of the situational irony. The narrator wanted to hide his blindness from his co-Traveller in every possible way. So , he conversed with the girl very tactfully.  But he was unaware that his co- passenger was also playing  the same game with him. When the girl got down from the train at Saharanpur where her aunt was waiting for her and another passenger entered the compartment,  that twist in the tale got revealed. The narrator came to learn th came to learn that  the girl who travelled with him till Saharanpur and with whom he was playing the game of deception  was completely blind.  Ruskin Bond travelled through the world of the blind with subtle sympathy in ”The Eyes Have It”.
